Syndal South has previously participated in theRe@ct Film Festival. This year the school will prepare an entry for the 2007 Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) Film Festival.
As consumers of multimedia in their everyday life, students gain an appreciation of the amount of work, and variety of skills, required to make a film from start to finish. The team must develop a concept; storyboard it; plan each stage; seek locations; prepare scripts; audition the cast; perform rehearsals; find costumes; video and review each scene; prepare artwork; source music; edit, sequence and finalise the production before producing the final DVD.
The objectives of the Film Festival are to:
- celebrate students' exploration of creativity in video and digital storytelling
- promote the use of Multimedia in schools
- promote the links between student engagement, wellbeing and the Victorian Essential Learning Standards
- foster the spirit of collaboration, integrated learning approaches and reflection
