Through weekly art lessons, students are introduced to a variety of methods to explore the world and express themselves. Children paint, draw, construct, model, print, weave, sew, observe, reflect about the world looking through the lens of the visual arts. Our budding artists respond to visual artworks and a range of increasingly complex techniques using a variety of materials. Fostering an open-mind and positive self-talk, all students are encouraged to use Art as an expression to explore and create.

In Art our students:

• Develop creativity and imagination
• Are exposed to the art of different cultures and artists of the world, both traditional and contemporary
• Express feelings and ideas
• Develop an ability to make aesthetic judgements about pieces of art by responding to their own work, peers work and recognised artists
• Explore and manipulate a variety of mediums.
