How to Enrol Your Child 

This year our school is using an online system for new enrolments to Victorian Government schools called VicStudents.  VicStudents is available for students who are enrolling for the first time into a Victorian Government school. This also includes Foundation (Prep) enrolments for 2025.

To commence an online enrolment:

Visit https://students.educationapps.vic.gov.au/s/ to create an account and complete the online application form by Friday 26th July 2024.  If you would prefer to submit a paper application form you can find it here or pick up a hard copy from our school office.  A Quick Reference Guide to using the online system is available here.

We will then review the information submitted and be in contact with you by Friday 9th August 2024.

You should accept one enrolment offer by Friday 23rd August 2024.  When accepting an offer, you will be required to provide additional personal and health information that will be share with the school.

Students must turn 5 years of age by 30^th April in the year they commence school.

The following supporting documentation must be provided with the completed application:

• A copy of the student's birth certificate (if born in Australia)
• A Passport (if the student is born overseas) must be provided for sighting and copying
• A copy of the student's visa (if applicable); and
• An Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register. 

Foundation (Prep) Enrolments

Enrolment applications submitted after 26th July 2024 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the Department of Education's Placement Policy.

The Department of Education (DE) has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.  The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Syndal South Primary School.

Our School Zone

Our school zone is available on Findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria. Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Department of Education's Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school. However, students may enrol at another school, if there are available places.
